All Adistanam(s) are sacred.  The 58th Sankaracharya of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam – Sri Viswathikendra Athma Bodhendra Saraswathi Swamigal Adistanam is in Vadavaambalam.

Vadavaambalam Adistanam is very special as it is the only Adistanam (so far) unearthed after being discovered by Sri MahaPeriyava in 1927.

This year, Ati Rudram Ravi is conducting Jata Parayanam in Vadavaambalam with 50 rithwiks on the occasion of Sri MahaPeriyava Aradhanai.
