The intrinsic part of Hindu Religion is celebrating our Gods … There is so much of Beauty in it… Rich Heritage in it… So much of Aesthetics in it… And much more…
Beautiful Clay “Pillaiyar” made in different sizes – so much colors… Pillaiyar Kudai – (Umbrellas) with endless artistic designs… Poojai, Abhishekam everywhere… Variety of Kozhakattai to feast on – AS WE KNOW, ALL THESE SIGNIFY GANESHA CHATHURTHI – A FESTIVAL THAT IS CELEBRATED WITH GREAT POMP AND ENTHUSIASM…
Cute little Feet drawn from the doorstep till the Pooja room… Poojai, bhajans everywhere, Aromatic smell of butter, Variety of Seedai to feast on – ALL THESE SIGNIFY SRI KRISHNA JAYANTHI – AS WE KNOW, ANOTHER CLOSE TO HEART FESTIVAL CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF KRISHNA…
Today, when you hear “Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara” Gosham in every corner, when you see flocks of Brahmanas chanting “Veda” in so many places, when you see beautiful Rathotsavam happening in many places, when you see Upanyasam / Bhajanai / Kutcheri and so much more festive things happening – IT HAS STARTED TO SIGNIFY YET ANOTHER SPECIAL SOUL TOUCHING FESTIVAL – SRI MAHAPERIYAVA JAYANTHI …
It’s been 121 years… Year after year, we sing HIS Praises more and more and celebrate HIM with so much Bhakthi and Shraddha.. It’s not only in Kanchipuram, not only in Tamilnadu, not only in India – SRI MAHAPERIYAVA JAYANTHI HAS CROSSED THE OCEANS AND IS BEING CELEBRATED IN MAGNIFICENCE IN EVERY CORNER OF THE WORLD!
Let’s rewind to June 2nd 2015 and let the celestial festival begin… Here is a collage of videos and photos being shared by devotees across the world …
HARA HARA SANKARA JAYA JAYA SANKARA
“Jayethi Jeevethi nutho vibho tvam”
One of the most ardent devotees of Mahaperiyava was BrahmaSri Pradosham Mama, an ordinary railway employee, who wished to build a temple for Periyava, and that dream has now fructified into the great granite marvel, the Manimantapam at Orikkai. It was not just his firm conviction, but also a great realization begotten through arduous penance and deep insight that Mahaperiyava was none other than the Lord of Kailasha.
Mama would commemorate the birth event of this Avatharam by celebrating His Anuradha Janma Nakshatram (Anusham) every single month way back in the 1970s itself, through the performances of Ayushya Homam, Abhishekam, Veethi Utsavam, etc. And it was a wish close to his heart that these celebrations take place in a similar fashion in every village or town or city (“Pettaikku Pettai Avalai Kondadanum” were his exacts words).
And isn’t it the bounden duty of the Lord to fulfill the wishes of His devotee? Mama’s wishes have been fulfilled with Periyava’s Jayanthi Mahotsavam being celebrated monthly (Masika Anusham) and annually (Vaikasi Anusham) by thousands of devotees in several places. The collage of celebrations captured in this beautiful video is enthralling, and reaffirming the fact that Mahaperiyava Jayanthi is fast graduating into another wonderful festival of Sanathana Dharma, similar to Vinayaka Chaturthi and Navarathri (which Sivaraman mama is vaguely heard saying during the recording at Panchami Nagarajan’s home).
The last shloka of the 53rd Dashakam of Sriman Narayaneeyam concludes with the words “Jayethi Jeevethi nutho vibho tvam” – “Thy devotees praised Thee saying, ‘Victory to Thee’, ‘May Thou live long'”. Sri Triplicane Periyava would recite this shloka thrice every single day at the conclusion of his puja to Guruvayurappan and Mahaperiyava (who he firmly believed were one and the same). Let us also join the chorus and chant “Jayethi Jeevethi Nutho Vibho Tvam!!!”
Aha! What a great comment!
Jayethi Jeevethi Nutho Vibho Tvam!
Jayethi Jeevathi Nutho Vibho Tvam!!
Jayethi Jeevathi Nutho Vibho Tvam!!!

Outstanding video. You have taken us to all Kshethras all over the world where Maha Periyava Jayanthi was celebrated with great Devotion and Grandeur. Maha Periyava used to tell that Bhagavan Adi sankara Jayanthi must be celebrated in every Pettai. Thanks tothe efforts of Pradosham mama and other great Devotees of Maha Periyava, Maha Periyava Jayanthi is being celebrated with increasing grandeur every year in all Pettais! They laid the path and we comfortably travel in that path. The administrators of this blog are doing great service to the cause of Maha Periyava Devotion. Such selfless service deserves all appreciation and support. Hara Hara Shankara, jaya Jaya Shankara!
Yes. You’re right.
Where Mahaperiyava is celebrated in whichever country or state or city or ‘pettai’ or home, that place is indeed a ‘kshetram’ !!!
‘Kshetram’ is a place where for a ‘viveki’, the ‘good deeds’ will give multiple benefits and the ‘bad deeds’ of the past may get rid off.
Where the ‘Murthy’ is, there the ‘Kshetram’ is! Well said.
Hara Hara Sankara! Jaya Jaya Sankara!

I have only heard of the power of SATSANGH from the Indian greats, never experienced it until i met Ppl like G Shivaraman mama and some team of extra ordinary individuals whose life is fully driven by Mahaperiayava. Though i was born out of his anugraham in satara in 1979 i only came to know of his unlimited boundaries and his extraordinary devotees who are always with him and he with his devotees. We started to do Anushams at Namma patashalai since Feb 2014 , the following month itself we got 2 great statues of Mahaperiayava and Adi Shankara with the help of G Shivaraman mama, Today after seeing this celestial event being done so many locations brings ” TEARS OF JOY and PRIDE” to see our great gnani guru being celebrated with so much enthusiasm. This only gives us more strength to continue further and make it even bigger next anusham. Thanks for taking the time to compile such a huge event with so much care and love.. Our support is always with you.
Namaskarams to you all for conducting Anusham at your pAtasAla.
Any group working on Periyava’s work is indeed extraordinary. Salutations to them.
Even a bowl of ‘ordinary milk’ becomes ‘Amirtam’ when a drop of ‘Amirtam’ is spilled on it. Same way even for ordinary people, when ‘Amirtam’ called ‘MahaPeriyava’ fells within they too become ‘Amirtam’. Then, even an interaction with them, or a word from them or a glance of them or even a thought about them brings purity to our mind therefore joy!
Periyava is the ‘Amirta-Varshini’ to all of us. Prayers to fill ordinary hearts & lives like me with his ‘Amirta-smaranA’.
Namaskarams to all of you again.
Hara Hara Shiva Shiva Periyava!
Shiva Shiva Hara Hara Periyava!
Excellent video. They are able to do this service only because of the Anugraham of our Mahaperiyava. We were literally taken to all the places wherever Periyava’s Jayanrthi has been celebrated. Myself, my cousin and my mother, we were blessed to be in Kanchi matam on that very auspicious day and we forgot the entire world when we were standing before the Adhishtanam. Nothing comes to mind except tears. I always pray Mahaperiyava that His Karunaii and Anugraham may be showered on all his Devotees and everyone in this universe.
Hara hara sankara jaya jaya sankara kanchi sankara kamakoti sankara.
It was a divine visual treat to watch this video collage Thanks for giving us the opportunity to see the celebrations in so many places in India and abroad. What we experience when we attend just anusham celebrations is not just joy and peace .He stays in our minds thereafter and the thoughts keep reverberating Not a day passes without thinking or reading or hearing about his greatness and compassion. He is God,, Appa, Amma , Everything.
Thank you so much sir. it was really a pleasure to watch this video…
