This video experience
- is not a lengthy video… It is just under 20 minutes…
- does not carry narration of many incidents…
- may not be of those kind that ties us to the seat…
But, this video experience unveils how our Umachi Thatha revived Atharva Vedham similar to one where Periyava chose Brahmasri Parasuramachar to reinvigorate Madhwa Rig Vedic Tradition.
Sri Seetharama Diwedi and Sri Balamani are the chosen ones for this divine act. Here is Seetharama Diwedi narrating it all…
- Periyava goes to a temple in BrahmaDesam and sees SilaSaasanam and discovers Atharva Vedham in practice
- HE then arranges for giving advertisement in Newspaper
- A Vedic Brahmin whose Swa-Shaakai in Atharva Vedham sees the ad and shows up from a remote village
- Sri Seetharama Diwedi and Sri Balamani were then sent to Sinor (aka Senapuram) to learn Atharva Vedham
- They take HIS blessings and after many hardships finish their adhyayanam
And thus, HE reseeded “Atharva Vedham” in 1960 and saved it from being extinct today…
In addition to this historic incident, Sri Seetharaman mama narrates a comical “coffee decotion” incident!
Brahmasri Parasuramachar’s interview can be viewed here :
True…. Adharva Vedam scholars are declining or disappearing slowly now a days. Periva was instrumental to rejuvenate this branch study to various people. Unfortunately this did not catch much as other branches. The born Adharva Veda Shakha people are declining because of not studying their own Veda. Periva will definitely do the best for this even after HE left HIS Sthula Shareeram.
Jaya Jaya Shankara….. Hara Hara Shankara….
Maha Swami, when he visited Simhachalam, near Visakhapatnam or Vizag, instructed the Trustee to recruit an Atharva Vedi on rolls and thus, Brahma Sri Vadlamani Venkateswara Avadhani Garu is now a living icon for Atharva Veda here. He recalls this incident passionately with moist eyes. He produced some more Adharva Vedis, who are now employed in Simhachalam and Annavaram. Jaya Jaya Sankara , Hara Hara Sankara
I have heard that Brmsri Seetharaman and Brmsri Balamani spent long years at Tirupthy as part of Chatur Veda group. Can somebody throw some light on where are they now; have they been able to create a Sishya parampara and so on.
