Wisdom’s Goldenrod is a center for philosophic studies founded by Anthony Damiani (the disciple of Paul Brunton)… Anthony had few hundred followers and many of them have had the darshan of Maha Periyava… Our journey in search of them left us dumbfounded with what they had to say…
All people at Wisdom’s Goldenrod refer to MahaPeriyava as “Sankara” or “Sankaracharya”. Here is the video interview of Mr.Lou Damiani (son of Anthony Damiani) who was very blessed to have darshan of Sri MahaPeriyava in 1985 and in 1989.
Thousands of miles away from Kanchipuram – literally from the other side of the globe, here is a gentleman who had darshan of Maha Periyava and says many things about MahaPeriyava that makes us speechless…
– He felt like he is a moth near the flame attracted to Periyava…
– He says , Periyava’s Blessings and Kindness changed his life and he transformed after he had HIS darshan…
– He says, I’m here today (for many reasons), but HE (MahaPeriyava) is surely one of them…
– He says , Periyava transmitted everything to him in “Silence” – Periyava was like “Dakshinamurthy” to him
It was not only Lou Damiani, there are so many people in Wisdom’s Goldenrod who were blessed to have the darshan of Sri Maha Periyava… They have lots to say… lots to share… But, every single person there has something in common to say… All their experiences with MahaPeriyava were felt in “Silence” ! No big interactions, No lengthy conversations, No big prayers of any sort, it was purely “Meditation” through which they saw HIM.
Being in India, having been in close proximity to Periyava, having been in the vicinity of HIM, it makes us wonder what did we miss to see “in HIM” that these people were able to see ! How did we miss to “recognize HIM” when the some blessed westerners were able to do so! Periyava alone knows the answer and HE alone can bless us to realize WHO HE IS – atleast now (better late than never), nearly after 120 years!!!
Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara

Satyamana Varthaigal. Thought We vividly see the Sarveshawaran, fail to realise due to our Agnanam, also we set our priorities which is more prone to commercial world.
Atleast we should realise this and keep our Periyava in our heart and do pooja like Poosala nayanar.
We pray to our Periyava to give us flawless mind which should always think of him
Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara
Oh So blessed to listen to Lou Damiani Ji especially His father being named by PB as the American Bhramin … the connect that he had with Mahaperiyava and that he like many received all the grace transmitted to him by Silence in the presence Of Mahaswamigal.
Truly we need to brace up and learn from these blessed souls.
Thanks a ton for the organisers and the students of PB and the active members the Wisdom of The Golden rod centre .
Would like to know about the experiences of others too. This is one way to be in constant remembrance of Mahaperiyava Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara
It’s so genuine.. persons who had the fortune of having Darshan and conversations of Sri Sri Maha Periyava can easily relate to what is said in the interview.
I am reminded of Kannapa Nayanar, when I see this gentleman, when he innocently exhibits the much scared beads ( worn by Sri Sri Periyava, removed and given by HIM). This clearly shows how Sri Sri Periyava is willing to pardon ( rather ignore) such things and sees only the deep sincerity in prayers and faith in HIM. I think HE was willing to offer these concessions to westerners, given their background. In a different background HE expects Madi, Aacharam and like. Both are true.. He wants everyone to respect their culture and background though sometimes, it may appear as a conflict ( to layman like ME). It was like Sabari giving fruit to Lord Rama, Great Soul Vidhura offering plantain’s outer skin instead of the fruit. How much our religion has in it abundance and it is for us to realize it
Wonderful to hear a Westerner who understands India, Periyava etc so much. Can I have his email?
