He was called as Panampattu Kannan as he joined Sri Mahaperiyava from a village called Panampattu near Villupuram. Later he was called Kaladi Kannan as he was instrumental for Kaladi Keerthi Sthambam. Then, He became Kasi Kannan as he was responsible for Kasi Kamakoteeswarar temple and also Triveni Prayag Kanchi Matam construction.
From Rameswaram , Kaladi ,Kasi , Prayag Tiruveni, Guruketram to Haridwar, Sri Kannan Mama was in charge for all Nirmaana activities of Sri Mahaperiyava’s vision for Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Matam. Last but not the least to mention , Sri Mama did everything for Uthara Chidambaram Nataraja temple at Satara.
In short we can say Sri kannan Mama was “Mayan” in “Sri Mahaperiyava Samrajyam”. We are very very fortunate and most blessed to get his voice ( alas ! Not the video interview) interview done by someone who deserves our gratitude and Namaskaram.
Sri Kannan mama took Sanyasam and was in Varanasi. He attained Siddhi in Varanasi and hence had a Ganga Jala Samaadhi as Sanyasi attaining siddhi in Varanasi wouldn’t have adistanam.
A Ganga Jala Adistanam with Bana Linga Pradishtai for Sri Kannan Swamigal was done today in Upanishad Matam, Kanchipuram. It is a great blessing for devotees of Sri MahaPeriyava.
Note: Ganga Jala Adistanam is similar to Mrithigai Adistanam for Sri Ragavendra Swami done everywhere by taking the Mrithigai from Sri Ragavendra Matam in Mantralayam.
Here are couple of pictures of Sri Kannan (mama) Swamigal’s Adistanam:
A 21 hours of of audio treasure was lying around a devotee’s house and fortunately found by a disciple of Sri Sivan SAR. The audio was made ready by Sri Sankaran Mama, grandson of Sri Allur Ganapatigal.
